Abby Weisbrot

Caroline

Abby is a recent graduate of Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting program at the University of Windsor. In addition to her university training, Abby has also trained with the Stratford Academy (Shakespeare Text and Voice Technique), the Saratoga International Theatre Institute (Suzuki and Viewpoints), Theatre Hotel Courage (Commedia Dell’Arte), Peggy Dwyer (Legit and Contemporary singing for musical theatre), and Outside the March (Immersive Theatre). Previous credits include Isobel - Lion in the Streets, Sabine - The Three Musketeers, Rose - Dancing at Lughnasa (University Players), Anne Frank - The Reality of the Impossible Dream (Speakers Action Group), and Annie - White Wedding (Port Albert Productions). I and You is an incredibly charming play that tells the story of teenagehood, friendship, poetry, and the interconnectedness of life, and Abby is honoured to share in this unique production.

Jake Runeckles

Anthony

Jake is an Indian-Canadian actor-musician-producer from Newmarket, Ontario, and a recent graduate from George Brown Theatre School. While in school he co-created Knots, which premiered at the 2016 Toronto Fringe Festival, and performed The Newmarket Show at the Young Artist’s Showcase in his hometown. Upon graduating, Jake completed the Indie Producer’s Co-Op program with Theatre by the Bay. Selected Theatre: The Secret Garden (Young People’s Theatre), The Nails (Summerworks 2017), Asylum (Theatre TOnight), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (GBTS) and Animal Nature (Clay and Paper Theatre). Television: Impulse (Youtube Red). In his free time, Jake writes musicals and is the resident DJ at 3 Brasseurs in Liberty Village.

Marc R. Bondy

Director

Marc holds a B.F.A. in Acting (2000) from the University of Windsor and has subsequently trained at the Stratford Festival Conservatory (2001), International Residency at Shakespeare’s Globe (U.K., 2004) and The Banff/Citadel Robbins Academy (2012). He has worked for 17 years as an actor, director, producer and teacher and has worked at many of Canada’s finest theatres– among them TNB, STC, Regina’s Globe, Persephone, The Citadel, Soulpepper, and the Stratford Festival. Marc has taught and directed at the high school, university and professional levels and loves working with both student and professional actors. He is the Founding Artistic Director of Outlook Theatre and he is thrilled to be helming the Toronto premiere production of I and You. Marc’s love of theatre is surpassed only by his love for his family. Thank you Tricia, Leia, and Maeve for sharing me with the theatre for all these years.

Virginia Cardinal

Stage Manager

Virginia Cardinal is a Toronto based Stage Manager, completing her stage management apprenticeship. Recent credits include: Stage Manager for The Tragedie of Lear, Hogtown Experience (Hogtown Collective), The Good Doctor Holmes and His Children of God (Tanagra), Three Sisters (Wolf Manor Theatre Company) and Dancock’s Dance (Hogtown Collective), Assistant Stage Manager for The Hogtown Experience (January and Summer 2016, Hogtown Collective) and Apprentice Stage Manager for Lucio Silla (Opera Atelier).

Meghan Fowler

Assistant Director

Meghan is a Toronto-based theatre artist originally from Vancouver. She is a recent graduate from the University of Windsor’s BFA acting program, and has also received training from the Stratford Academy, and the Kristin Linklater Voice Centre. Selected credits include: Constance in The Three Musketeers, Sue, Jill, Joanne and Joan in Lion in the Streets, Assistant Director in Queen Milli of Galt (University Players); Publius and Alarbus in Titus Andronicus (Hart House Theatre). Upcoming: Deirdre McDavey in I Hate Hamlet (Scarborough Players). When not in rehearsal, Meghan enjoys baking for her cast and crew mates. Her cookies will make their first stage appearance in this performance.

Emma Welsh

Set & Costume Designer

Emma is thrilled to be working with Outlook Theatre on I and You. A graduate of the University of Victoria’s Phoenix Theatre her credits there include costume design for Lion in the Streets and assistant to the designer for Unity (1918), and The Skin of Our Teeth. Recently she was the assistant costume designer for Calpurnia (Nightwood and Sulong Theatre). Originally from Yellowknife, NWT her work in the North can be seen in the feature film Dark Sky and in the jerseys for her roller derby team The Northern Frights (Diamond City Roller Derby).

Lighting Designer

Noah is a lighting designer originally from Vancouver, now resident in Toronto. Noah is a graduate of the Ryerson School of Performance and an Associate Member of the Associated Designers of Canada.

Lily Chan

Production Manager

Lily Chan is a Toronto based theatrical manager and consultant. She holds a BFA in Performance Production from Ryerson University. She aspires to become an astounding creator and facilitator of integrated live events. When not immersed in productions she can be found supporting her friends as emerging artists. Upcoming: 食盡天下 (A Taste of Empire) (Cahoots Theatre, 2018) Production Manager and Technical Coordinator; The Brother's Gentle (Scotch Monkey Collective, Toronto Fringe Festival 2018) Sound Designer; Carmilla (Pointed Cap Playhouse, Montreal and Toronto Fringe Festival 2018) Stage Manager.

Lauren Gunderson

Playwright

Lauren Gunderson is the most-produced living playwright in America for 2017. She is a playwright, screenwriter, and short story author from Atlanta, Georgia. She received her BA in English/Creative Writing at Emory University, and her MFA in Dramatic Writing at NYU Tisch, where she was also a Reynolds Fellow in Social Entrepreneurship.
She was named the most produced living playwright in America by American Theatre Magazine in 2016, was awarded the 2016 Lanford Wilson Award from the Dramatist Guild, and was awarded the prestigious 2014 Steinberg/ATCA New Play Award for her play, I and You (also a Susan Smith Blackburn Blackburn and John Gassner Award finalist). That play was an NNPN Rolling World Premiere that started at Marin Theatre Company and has seen over 40 productions nationwide. She is also a recipient of the Mellon Foundation's 3-Year Residency with Marin Theatre Company.
Her first musical, The Amazing Adventures of Dr. Wonderful and Her Dog! was commissioned by the Kennedy Center and opened to rave reviews and continues its life in a state-wide tour in Florida. Dr. Wonderful will be released as a picture book May 2017 published by Two Lions/Amazon. She is the co-book-writer for The Happy Elf, the Christmas musical with music and lyrics by Harry Connick Jr.
Emilie: La Marquise Du Chatelet Defends Her Life Tonight (published by Samuel French) was commissioned and premiered at South Coast Repertory in 2009, and has run across the country and in England. By And By, her sci-fi father-daughter drama, premiered with Shotgun Players in Berkeley in 2012. Fire Work was developed at the National Playwrights Conference at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, is a 2011 winner for Aurora Theatre Company's Global Age Project, and premiered at TheatreFIRST in 2014. She has developed plays with Second Stage Theatre, Red Bull Theater, and Primary Stages in NYC; New Repertory Theatre in Boston; Playwrights Foundation, Crowded Fire Theater, TheatreWorks, Aurora Theatre Company, and Magic Theatre in San Francisco; Kitchen Dog Theater in Dallas; Synchronicity, Actor's Express, and Horizon Theatre Company in Atlanta; JAW: A Playwrights Festival at Portland Center Stage in Portland; WordBRIDGE, Brave New Works, and others.
Her work has received national praise and awards including being a Steinberg/ATCA New Play Award winner, a Susan Smith Blackburn finalist, a Jane Chambers Award finalist, and winner of the Berrilla Kerr Award for American Theatre, Global Age Project, Young Playwrights Award, Eric Bentley New Play Award and Essential Theatre Prize. She has been commissioned by South Coast Repertory (four times), Denver Theatre Company, Crowded Fire Theater, the Alliance Theatre's Collision Project, Marin Theatre Company, Actor's Express, Dad's Garage Theatre, Theatrical Outfit, City University of New York and Synchronicity. Leap was published with The Playwriting Center of Theater Emory (2004), and her first collection of plays, Deepen The Mystery: Science and the South Onstage, is published with iUniverse (2006). She received a Sloan Science & Film Award (2008) for her screenplay Grand Unification, and her short story "The Ascending Life" won the Norumbega Fiction Award and was published in the anthology The Shape of Content; her science play Background was published in Isotope: A Journal of Literary Nature and Science Writing. Her string theory poem "Hook of a Number" was published in the anthology Riffing On Strings.
